This is a senior enterprise leadership role responsible for shaping and governing the global supplier quality strategy within a highly regulated biopharmaceutical environment. You will oversee the full supplier lifecycle, ensuring compliance, product quality, and patient safety across a complex global external manufacturing and supply network. Acting as a key quality authority, you will partner closely with Procurement, Technical Operations, Manufacturing, and senior leadership teams to drive consistent, risk-based supplier oversight. The role combines strategic governance with hands-on leadership in quality systems, auditing, and supplier performance management. You will also play a critical role in advancing digital transformation within Supplier Quality, leveraging data, automation, and AI to enhance decision-making and risk detection. This position is ideal for a seasoned quality leader who thrives in global, matrixed environments and is passionate about operational excellence and patient impact.
- Define and execute the global Supplier Quality strategy, ensuring alignment with global quality systems, regulatory requirements, and business objectives.
- Own end-to-end supplier lifecycle management in partnership with Procurement, including qualification, onboarding, performance monitoring, change control, and exit processes.
- Establish and govern global supplier quality processes such as quality agreements, deviations, CAPA, audits, and compliance oversight.
- Lead risk-based supplier segmentation and oversight models to prioritize critical suppliers and mitigate supply chain risks.
- Monitor supplier quality performance through KPIs, trend analysis, and escalation frameworks to ensure continuous improvement.
- Lead supplier-related investigations, risk assessments, and corrective/preventive actions to protect product quality and patient safety.
- Oversee the global supplier auditing program, including planning, execution, effectiveness checks, and regulatory inspection readiness.
- Drive digital transformation of Supplier Quality by implementing data-driven tools, automation, and AI-enabled solutions for enhanced decision-making.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Technical Operations, Procurement, and Quality teams to ensure alignment on supplier requirements and strategies.
- Lead and develop a global Supplier Quality organization, including talent development, organizational design, and capability building.
- Manage budgets, resourcing, and long-term planning for the Supplier Quality function.
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, or related field required; advanced degree preferred.
- 15+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, Supplier Quality, Manufacturing, or related roles in biotech, pharma, or regulated industries.
- Strong knowledge of global regulatory frameworks including GMP, GDP, GCP, ISO standards, and 21 CFR requirements.
- Proven experience leading global supplier quality programs and managing complex, multi-tier external supply networks.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing and developing high-performing global teams.
- Strong ability to influence senior stakeholders in a matrixed, global organization without direct authority.
- Experience leading transformation initiatives, including digitalization and quality system modernization.
- Strong analytical mindset with experience using data, metrics, and digital tools to improve quality outcomes.
- Excellent communication, leadership presence, and stakeholder management skills, including interaction with regulators and executives.
- Experience with AI-enabled quality systems is a strong plus.
