Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
The Pool Attendant is the eyes and ears of our community’s most popular amenity. While not a lifeguard, this team member plays a critical role in maintaining a welcoming, clean, and respectful pool environment by being a consistent, professional presence. The ideal candidate is approachable, observant, and confident enough to uphold community standards and deter inappropriate behavior through a friendly yet firm demeanor.
This is a highly visible, fast-paced, and multifaceted role; the ideal candidate must be able to multi-task and “jump in” wherever needed to get the job done.
EMPLOYEE CLASSIFICATION
Part-time (20 – 25 Hours/Week) / Non Exempt (eligible for overtime) / Non-essential.
WORK LOCATION: ONSITE ONLY (NOT ELIGIBLE FOR REMOTE WORK)
Onsite attendance is an essential function of this position. This role does not permit remote work or telecommuting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties listed below are typical for the position but may not be all-encompassing. Additional duties may be assigned.
Property Representation / Rules Enforcement
· Greet residents and guests at the pool area with a welcoming and professional demeanor.
· Ensure posted pool rules are being followed (no glass, no diving, appropriate attire, no smoking, no pets).
· Monitor for behavior that may cause damage.
· Report incidents, maintenance needs, or rule violations to the appropriate staff.
· Light upkeep tasks such as tidying up chairs, wiping surfaces, or collecting trash.
· Perform pool skimming as needed to remove surface debris.
· Maintain a general visual awareness of pool water clarity and condition, promptly escalating any concerns to the supervisor.
· Serve as a visible reminder to residents and guests that the pool is monitored and rules will be enforced.
· Promote a positive, resort-style atmosphere for all residents and guests.
· Ensure residents follow pool hours.
· Ensure residents have no more than two guests.
· Have full knowledge of resident responsibility listed in Resident Handbook under SWIMMING POOL.
Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS
· Must be at least 18 years of age.
· Experience in hospitality, customer service, or security is a plus.
· CPR or First Aid certification is not required but preferred.

The ideal person must have/be:
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
· Ability to confidently and respectfully enforce community rules.
· Responsible, punctual, and observant.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The conditions listed represent those that an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.
Work Environment
· Outdoors in summer months at poolside area for majority of scheduled shift.
· High level of social interaction.
Physical Requirements
· Requires sufficient mobility to work in an outdoor setting.
· Frequently needs to perform standing and walking activities, including walking around pool deck.
· Requires ability to use a variety of equipment, including computer, camera, and cell phone.
· Occasional need to lift/carry items (pool furniture, trash cans, etc.).
· Must be able to perform the following physical activities:
- Stand / Bend / Stoop / Squat
- Climb Stairs
- Push / Pull / Grasp / Turn
- Reach Above Shoulder
- Writing / Typing / Finger Dexterity
- Carry Items
Vision / Hearing / Speaking Requirements
· Requires ability to see in the normal visual range with or without correction; sufficient to read computer screens and printed documents. Must be able to determine colors properly.
· Requires hearing in the normal audio range with or without correction.
· Requires ability to communicate over the telephone and in person.
Driving / Traveling Requirements
· Employee must have reliable transportation to report to work.
· This role is fully site-based and does not involve travel or driving responsibilities.
