This position is responsible for facility maintenance at the plywood facility - helping to develop, administer, and manage preventive and repair maintenance programs. Coordinates the daily activities of hourly mechanical and electrical maintenance personnel. Communicates with plant personnel on overall maintenance issues to aid process improvement. This position requires a strong commitment to safety and quality.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications: B.S. degree in Engineering, Science or related field preferred. Must have a minimum of five years' experience and maintenance skills in a manufacturing environment. Must have extensive preventive maintenance experience. Prior supervisory or lead person experience in a maintenance environment preferred. Must have excellent communication skills and experience with employee involvement activities; demonstrated excellent organizational skills, including attention to detail and follow-up procedures; strong leadership qualities and a focus on safety; a strong desire to coach and facilitate change through continuous improvement in a team environment.
Responsibilities:
- Duties: Manages installation, maintenance, and repair teams to ensure safe, compliant operation of industrial electrical systems and equipment. Also, Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance on industrial equipment
- Supervision: Lead, mentor, and coordinate a team of electricians and contractors, ensuring productivity and adhering to safety protocol
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose complex electrical malfunctions and implement immediate repairs to minimize operational downtime
- Administrative Duties: Assesses, schedules, and assigns predictive and preventive maintenance tasks; troubleshoots electrical and instrumentation equipment and systems; estimates time, cost, labor and material needs, and orders necessary equipment and materials.
- Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of industrial electrical systems, Allen-Bradley PLCs, VFDs, and HMIs
- Safety: Must demonstrate an exemplary safety performance and lead the way for his team to work safely.
- Leadership: Strong communication, organizational, and personnel management skills
- Continuous Improvement: Must be committed to leading a reliability-based facility to minimize both equipment downtime and unnecessary employee interaction with the equipment
- Knowledge base: A good understanding of mechanical systems to compliment electrical knowledge.
