Lincoln County Health and Human Services is looking for a Psychiatrist to add to their team to assist in providing services to our community. This person will provide professional and behavioral health services to clients with mental or emotional disturbances, and co-occurring substance abuse problems in accordance with all professional practice standards and within the scope of licensure.


Compensation is based on experience and education in the field.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

Graduation from an accredited school of medicine offering a program of study leading to a degree of Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO). Completion accredited psychiatric residency and/or fellowship programs.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES

Board Certified or Board Eligible in psychiatry. Must possess an unencumbered license to practice psychiatry in the State of Oregon at the time of appointment.

JOB FUNCTIONS

Professional Practice:

  • Interview client and/or families using acceptable techniques that are appropriate for individual's level of functioning to obtain necessary information regarding medical, social, and/or emotional background.
  • Thoroughly review client's chart for background information and correctly identify psychosocial stressors and level of functioning.
  • Accurately analyze and evaluate findings from all available assessment data.
  • Effectively collaborate with patients, families, physicians, clinicians, other treatment team members and outside providers, as appropriate, to develop a care plan.
  • Prescribe medication and monitor compliance, writes standing orders, reviews lab results, and takes appropriate action, counsels and administers interventions treatments. Develop and direct a holistic plan of care.
  • Respond to patients/families in a collaborative manner that conveys a desire and willingness to assist in the achievement of the patient’s treatment goals.
  • Provide client care in a non-judgmental and non-discriminatory manner.
  • Always maintain a professional relationship with patient/families.
  • Create and maintain a high-performance environment characterized by positive role model, leadership, and a strong team orientation.

Documentation:

  • Accurately documents assessment and clinical findings to produce a complete medical record (including physical, mental, and/or social problems) on clients in a clear, complete, and concise manner within established time frames and standards of care.
  • Signs off on client treatment plans for Medicaid/Medicare. Record client’s care in the Electronic Medical Record and other information on appropriate forms in a legible, clear, and timely manner according to established clinic policy and standards of care.
  • Maintain and ensures confidentiality of client’s conditions and records, as well as other confidential information.

QA/QI and Risk Management/:

  • Identify, evaluate, and help to resolve deficits in the client care process. Contribute to the Community Mental Health Center’s quality assurance, quality improvement and peer review activities, as assigned.
  • Assure all applicable federal and state laws, including any requirements relating to the Center’s deemed status under the OARs, are followed.
  • Complete required in-service training annually. Attend and actively participate in departmental staff meetings, or committee meetings, as requested, to discuss needs, goals, objectives, clinical outcomes, quality assurance and quality improvement metrics.
  • Provide in-service training for staff as schedule and budget allows
