SAFETY AND SECURITY MANAGER at CONFIDENTIAL – Dayton, Ohio

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Dayton area is home to a range of historic and high-traffic environments that require consistent, thoughtful security oversight. One such property is seeking a Security Manager to oversee daily security operations and maintain a safe, well-managed environment for staff, visitors, and the surrounding space.

This role is responsible for ensuring effective on-site security through strong team leadership, clear procedures, and real-time awareness. Success in this role comes from consistency, preparation, and the ability to respond calmly and effectively in a dynamic environment.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who is as comfortable managing people and systems as they are being present in day-to-day operations.

WHAT YOU’LL OWN

• Oversight of daily security operations across the property and surrounding grounds
• Scheduling, coordination, and direction of security staff across all shifts
• Monitoring and oversight of security systems, including CCTV, alarms, and access control
• Coordination of incident response, including documentation, investigation, and follow-up
• Development and reinforcement of security procedures and response protocols
• Conducting routine risk assessments and identifying potential vulnerabilities
• Collaboration with local law enforcement and emergency services when needed
• Oversight of vendor or contracted security services, as applicable
• Maintenance of accurate incident reports and security documentation
• Support of a safe and welcoming environment within a high-traffic setting
• Availability to respond to after-hours or urgent security concerns

WHAT YOU BRING

• 5–8+ years of experience in security, safety, or related operational roles
• Prior experience in a supervisory or lead capacity
• Experience in high-traffic or public-facing environments strongly preferred
• Familiarity with security systems, including CCTV, access control, and alarm systems
• Experience in incident response, reporting, and emergency preparedness
• Strong situational awareness and sound decision-making skills
• Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Ability to lead a team while remaining engaged in day-to-day operations

WORK STRUCTURE

Full-time | Schedule may vary | May include evenings, weekends, and on-call or after-hours response

This role requires regular movement throughout the facility and surrounding grounds. Responsibilities may include standing or walking for extended periods, responding to incidents, and occasional lifting (up to approximately 40 pounds). Clear communication, situational awareness, and the ability to respond effectively in dynamic environments are essential.

This role is best suited for someone who takes ownership of the environment they are responsible for. Someone who notices what others overlook, maintains awareness at all times, and understands that strong security is built through consistency, presence, and follow-through.
