About This Position
White Sox Safety Coordinator
Part time / Evening and weekends availability required
Multiple venue locations:
- Rate Field
- United Center
General Responsibilities:
To ensure and maintain the safety of the United Center / Guaranteed Rate Field guests, staff and physical plant.
Demonstrated Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules,operatingand procedure manuals. Ability towriteroutine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization
- Ability to apply concepts of basic math.
- Ability to apply commonsenseunderstanding to carry out instructionfurnishedin written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Communicating Standard Operating Procedures to all Team Members and work as a liaison for the medical staff and security, with the United Center Management Staff.
- Scheduling.
Specific Duties:
- Pre-game inspections of the building.
- Assemble reports from Event Security, First Aid, StandardParkingand any event related documentation.
- Prevent safety hazards.
- Document thoroughly any incident requiring first aid.
- Team Member must recognize andparticipatein theutilizationof the various Recognition Programs.
- Team Member mustassistin the planning and monitoring of departmental strategic goals.
- Miscellaneous dutiesassigned.
Qualifications:
- 1year certificate from college or technical school: or 3 to 6 months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Excellent speaking skills
- Superb customer service skills
Additional Information:
- Starting Pay Rate = $26.30
- The individual maybe requiredto sit or walk up to 2/3 of the work shift
- The individual may alsobe requiredto use their hands, stoop, kneel or reach with their hands up to 1/3 of the work shift
- Vision requirement: Close, distance, color, peripheral, depth and focusingabilities
- The individual may alsobe requiredtolift upto 10 pounds up to 1/3 of the work shift
- The individual maybe requiredto walk up and down several stairs throughout the duration of the event while inspecting the building. The individual may alsobe requiredtoassistsecurity or first aid in lifting injured personnel or guests.
- The individual maybe requiredto work near moving mechanical parts, work in high, precariousplacesor work in outdoor weather conditions for up to 1/3 of thework day.
- The environment has a very loud noise level.
- The individual may alsobe requiredto be exposed to blood at times, in emergency situations when they are the first respondent.
