Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
Maintain and improve the appearance of outdoor spaces. Their responsibilities include mowing, landscaping, and repairing grounds. Also setting up and taking down for events.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (examples, not all inclusive)
- Responsible for cleaning, washing, preventive maintenance, repairs, and routine servicing of all assigned equipment.
- Supports special events by setting up, tearing down and other miscellaneous duties.
- Performs daily rounds of facilities to pickup trash, empty cans and inspect all areas for damage/ vandalism.
- May be required to work on a twenty (24) hour stand-by on call basis.
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid drivers license.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge in mechanical operation of light equipment, common tools, materials, and methods in maintaining grounds.
- Knowledge and understanding of safety precautions while working in and around traffic, buildings and people.
- Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time while working outdoors in extreme temperatures.
- Ability to understand verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to use a computer.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS
This position will involve some exposure to hazards or physical risk, which require following basic safety precautions. While performing the duties of this job the employee regularly uses hands, fingers, arms, and legs, to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or control and reach with hands and arms. The employee must have the ability to talk and hear proficiently. Required to walk, sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and smell. Frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS
This position requires work outside in all types of weather; exposure to outdoor elements, loud noises, vibrations, and respiratory hazards such as dust, gases, chemicals, and bacteria.
