WordPress Web Designer

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a WordPress Web Designer in the United States.

This role is focused on designing and building visually compelling, responsive, and high-performing WordPress websites that reflect strong brand identity and user experience principles. You will work across both design and development, turning concepts into fully functional web pages using modern tools like Elementor and WordPress. The position requires a balance of creative design sensibility and technical execution, with a strong emphasis on layout, typography, spacing, and usability. You will contribute to both new website builds and ongoing improvements to existing digital properties. Working remotely within U.S. Eastern Time hours, you’ll collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure websites meet business and branding needs. This is a hands-on role where your work directly shapes how users experience digital products and services.

Accountabilities

In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining WordPress websites that are visually strong, responsive, and aligned with brand requirements. You will work across design and implementation, ensuring both aesthetics and functionality are delivered at a high standard.

  • Design and build custom WordPress websites using Elementor, ensuring modern and responsive layouts.
  • Create visual mockups and page designs using Figma or similar tools before development.
  • Develop custom page templates, layouts, and reusable design components.
  • Maintain and update existing websites, including content edits and structural improvements.
  • Ensure full cross-browser and cross-device compatibility for all web pages.
  • Apply design improvements based on feedback and evolving project requirements.
  • Support basic technical SEO practices such as page speed optimization, metadata, and structured content.
Requirements

This role requires strong experience in WordPress design and development, with a sharp eye for visual composition and solid front-end development skills. You should be comfortable working independently in a remote, fast-paced environment aligned with EST hours.

  • 2–4 years of experience in WordPress web design and development.
  • Expert-level proficiency with Elementor page builder.
  • Strong skills in Figma or equivalent UI/UX design tools.
  • Solid understanding of responsive web design principles and best practices.
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Familiarity with technical SEO concepts such as page speed, schema, and meta tags.
  • Strong visual design skills, especially in typography, spacing, and layout composition.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and work reliably within U.S. Eastern Time hours.
Benefits
  • Fully remote position with structured full-time schedule (40 hours/week).
  • Stable working hours aligned with U.S. Eastern Time (EST/EDT).
  • Opportunity to work on diverse WordPress projects across different brands.
  • Hands-on role combining design creativity and technical development.
  • Exposure to modern web design tools and workflows (WordPress, Elementor, Figma).
  • Opportunity to build a strong portfolio of production-level websites.
  • Collaborative environment with clear expectations and consistent workflows.
