Director of Client Management

This senior leadership role is responsible for shaping and driving the overall client management strategy within a healthcare services organization specializing in third-party administration. You will oversee a team of account executives while ensuring exceptional client experience, strong retention, and long-term account growth across a diverse portfolio of employer clients. The role blends strategic leadership with operational oversight, requiring close collaboration with Sales, Operations, Finance, and Product teams to align service delivery with business objectives. You will act as a key executive sponsor for major client relationships, ensuring high-quality execution across onboarding, renewals, and ongoing service delivery. This position also plays a critical role in improving processes, strengthening operational performance, and supporting enterprise-wide initiatives related to client experience, compliance, and scalability. Accountabilities:

You will lead the client management organization, ensuring strong team performance, excellent client relationships, and consistent operational execution. Your focus will be on driving retention, improving service delivery, and aligning client strategies with broader business goals.

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Account Executives, including hiring, performance management, and succession planning
  • Define and monitor KPIs, service standards, and performance expectations for the client management function
  • Serve as executive sponsor for key clients, ensuring strong relationships, retention, and account growth
  • Oversee client onboarding, renewals, and ongoing service delivery to ensure operational excellence
  • Partner with Sales, Operations, Finance, and Product teams to align client needs with organizational capabilities
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities using data, client feedback, and performance metrics
  • Drive process improvements across client services, onboarding, enrollment, claims, and related operational workflows
  • Support enterprise initiatives related to compliance, governance, and client experience enhancement
  • Monitor financial performance, including client profitability, service costs, and resource allocation
Requirements:

You bring deep experience in client management or account leadership within healthcare, insurance, or third-party administrator environments, along with strong leadership and operational capabilities. You are a strategic thinker with the ability to manage teams, influence stakeholders, and deliver measurable results.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field
  • 8–10+ years of progressive experience in client services, account management, or client success roles
  • 5+ years of people management experience, including leadership of senior professionals or managers
  • Strong background in healthcare, insurance, or TPA environments, ideally with self-funded health plans
  • Proven track record of driving client retention, growth, and operational excellence
  • Strong financial, analytical, and business acumen with experience in performance and resource planning
  • Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence senior stakeholders
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and data-driven reporting
