Accounting Manager at Pullman Market – San Antonio, Texas

Position Summary:

The Accounting Manager serves as the steward of the general ledger and collaborates with business leaders to drive performance and deliver results. With a focus on maintaining a sound controls environment, this role is pivotal in ensuring compliance with internal accounting policies while leading and developing direct reports.

Operational Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department.
• Maintain the general ledger and sub-ledgers for multiple legal entities and business lines.
• Communicate period changes in financial statements through a robust balance sheet review process.
• Continuously improve processes and enhance personal understanding of the Company’s systems.
• Coordinate external auditor engagement for annual audit requirements.
• Lead month-end and year-end accounting cycles, ensuring data integrity and segregation of duties.
• Evaluate and enhance internal accounting processes and procedures.
• Undertake special projects, including standard general ledger accounting and process development.
• Play an effective role in the annual operations planning process.

Personal Requirements:

• Proven experience in accounting leadership roles, preferably in a multi-entity environment.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop direct reports.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.

Working Conditions:

• A typical work week for this position is 40-50 hours. Hours may vary if manager must fill in for their employees or if emergencies arise.
• Work with hot, cold, and hazardous equipment as well as operates phones, computers, fax machines, copiers, and other office equipment.
