About This Position
Hands-on proactive Maintenance & Facilities Manager wanted to build and manage preventive maintenance programs, spare parts management, and improvement projects for an innovative and rapidly scaling manufacturer in Gaston County. The Maintenance & Facilities Manager will lead the development of a structured maintenance operation while being hands-on with equipment, troubleshooting, and site improvements. Must be organized, mechanically capable, and comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment where priorities may shift as the facility grows and will work closely with operations, engineering, and leadership to ensure the facility remains safe, reliable, and capable of supporting production growth.

Maintenance & Facilities Manager Responsibilities:
- Develop a "Safety First" mindset and adhere to OSHA standards
- Develop and implement a preventive maintenance (PM) program
- Create and maintain maintenance and inspection SOPs
- Implement work order/maintenance tracking system
- Develop and maintain equipment and spare parts inventory to minimize downtime.
- Coordinate equipment, replacement parts, and maintenance supplies purchases.
- Develop detailed planning documents and project schedules for improvements and installations.
- Coordinate with internal and external teams for site improvement projects.
- Assist in specifying equipment and coordinating installations.
- Support ongoing improvements in site safety practices.
- Prepare for regulatory inspections/compliance reviews
- Manage and support maintenance supervisors and technicians.
- Guide and coordinate daily maintenance activities.
- Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and operational discipline.
- 3-5 years’ experience leading maintenance or facility teams in a manufacturing environment (chemical and processing preferred)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on maintenance experience
- Proactive problem solver, resourceful and adaptable with high-energy can-do attitude
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and OSHA standards
- Experience thriving in small company environments with expedited growth with changing priorities
- Proficient in technology for operational tracking, project and maintenance management
- Proven leadership ability managing technicians or small maintenance teams
- Skilled in implementing preventive maintenance programs
- Experience coordinating contractors and equipment installation
- Knowledgeable specifying equipment and purchasing maintenance parts
- Familiarity with industrial electrical power distribution, a plus
- Experience interacting with state or county regulatory agencies
