Industry Segment Manager

SUMMARY:

The Industry Segment Manager is responsible for planning and strategizing to retain and expand current customer relationships in a specific industry. The manager delivers solutions and value while ensuring high-quality customer service in order to retain and strengthen relationships with current clients. The manager also works closely with Motion field sales representatives and account specialists concerning best practices and strategies in the specific industry.

JOB DUTIES
  • Supports branch sales representatives by teaching best practices and strategies to accelerate sales.
  • Develops trusting relationships with Motion sales representatives ensuring they are aware of the role as a resource and knowledge base that can help them provide value to end users.
  • Acts as regional project coordinator. Understands the customer locations and site types well enough to be able to replicate appropriate solutions to the correct building type.
  • Supports, identifies, and drives field level sales programs and repeatable solutions and improve equipment functionality.
  • Educates field sales and customers on industry specific solutions to drive value to the sites.
  • Identifies new, repeatable sales opportunities. Continually monitors and evaluates field sales.
  • Develops relationships with Motion account specialists to further deepen Motion's value to end users.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Typically requires a bachelor's degree and seven (7) or more years of experience or an equivalent combination.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
  • Industry specific knowledge to assist and support field sales associates and customers required.
  • Knowledge of industrial products: power transmission, hydraulic, pneumatic, and industrial products.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A proficient understanding of key sales principles and best practices.
  • Ability to influence customers and field sales, while maintaining healthy relationships.
  • Ability to take initiative and work with limited direction.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to multitask and manage time well.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Travel required. May be required to be on-call nights or weekends, depending on need.

LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS: Valid driver's license required. All company vehicles are subject to continuous video monitoring.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: No Supervisory Responsibility

BUDGET RESPONSIBILITY: Yes
