Desktop Support Technician Internship

Location: Southfield, MI

Open Dealer Exchange is seeking a motivated Desktop Support Technician Intern to join our Information Technology team in Southfield, MI. This is a hands-on opportunity to gain real-world experience in desktop support, troubleshooting, and system deployment while working with a collaborative and supportive team. As a Desktop Support Intern, you’ll help keep our technology running smoothly by maintaining asset inventories, troubleshooting laptop and phone issues, and imaging and deploying new laptops with Windows 11 for end users. What You’ll Do (Essential Job Functions):

  • Provide daily support for laptops, phones, and related IT equipment, ensuring smooth operation for all team members.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues for both on-site and remote employees.
  • Image and deploy new laptops with Windows 11, ensuring users are set up for success.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of IT assets and track software licenses.
  • Set up new workstations, including configuring devices, setting permissions, and creating email accounts.
  • Provide friendly phone and desktop support to both remote and onsite employees.
  • Collaborate with the Desktop Support Team to ensure the continuous availability and reliability of critical systems.
Requirements:

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows 10/11 and Office 365 Suite.
