This role offers a high-impact opportunity to lead network engineering operations within a complex, mission-driven environment supporting large-scale government infrastructure. You will oversee the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of secure, high-performance network systems while ensuring alignment with organizational and client objectives. Acting as both a technical leader and people manager, you will guide engineering teams, influence architectural decisions, and ensure operational excellence across multiple network domains. The position requires strong expertise in modern networking technologies, cloud connectivity, and security frameworks. You will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, manage vendor relationships, and drive long-term network strategy and planning. - Lead the development and enforcement of network policies and procedures aligned with organizational and client goals
- Manage network engineering operations, including scheduling, performance tracking, and coordination of technical resources
- Oversee planning and execution of network initiatives, ensuring cost-effectiveness, feasibility, and alignment with strategic priorities
- Provide technical leadership in areas such as zero trust architecture, routing, switching, cloud networking, and secure connectivity
- Manage vendor relationships and oversee procurement processes to ensure efficient delivery of network services and solutions
- Conduct long-term network planning, including capacity forecasting, traffic analysis, and infrastructure optimization
- Serve as the escalation point for complex network incidents and technical issues across the environment
- Guide, mentor, and develop network engineering teams to strengthen technical capabilities and performance
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure network solutions support broader organizational and mission objectives
- Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends to inform strategic network improvements
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
- 5+ years of experience in network engineering or infrastructure leadership roles
- Strong expertise in Cisco networking technologies, including routing, switching, and wireless systems
- Experience with F5 technologies and enterprise network infrastructure management
- Hands-on experience with MPLS, cloud networking (AWS Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, VPC routing), and hybrid environments
- Knowledge of zero trust network architectures and security frameworks, including Zscaler solutions
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities in complex environments
- Strong technical leadership experience, including design, configuration, deployment, and troubleshooting oversight
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with ability to mentor and guide technical teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on operational excellence and scalability
