The role of the Rigging Helper is responsible for helping the Heavy Haul team on all rigging needs.
Responsibilities:

Assists Rigger in moving, lifting and positioning machinery and structural of equipment or units under repair or construction.

Pulls or slacks off on rigging, following hand signals, to maneuver equipment in close quarters, lay keel and bilge blocks in drydocks.

Positions chain falls or hoists, air pullers and block and tackle as directed by Rigger.

May issue and maintain rigging gear in rigging loft and be designated Rigging-Loft Repairer.

Maintain and contribute to a safe work environment by adhering to policies and procedures as outlined in the Company Safety Program.

Perform any other task or assignment as deemed necessary by the organization.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience:

Forklift certification, a plus.

Two years of experience in machinery moving, preferred.

Have a working knowledge of hand tools.

Ability to work in a warehouse and outside that is not climate controlled.

Ability to work a variety of shifts, such as early mornings or late evenings, during peak season.

Must demonstrate ownership & responsibility.

Ability to lift 50 pounds or more.

Must pass a drug screen.
