Vice President Business Development - West Coast at Aimbridge Hospitality – Plano, Texas
About This Position
The VP Business Development partners closely with the SVP Business Development to identify and analyze the organization's business opportunities and recommend strategic direction. Oversees development and execution of business development strategies designed to generate, pursue, and close business with prospect accounts for a identified regions/entities assigned.Management-level associates are expected to work as much of each workday as is necessary to complete their job responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Typically requires a bachelor's degree and at least 8 years of experience.
- Leads and directs the work of other employees and has responsibility for personnel actions including hiring, performance management, and termination.
- Supervision is often provided through a team of subordinate managers and/or directors.
- Collaborates with other members of the executive management team to align departmental strategy or direction with the overall goals of the organization.
- Develops policies, practices, and procedures that have a significant impact on the organization.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for development and execution of the organization's business development program in specified region/assigned entity.
- Identifies and assesses potential new markets, evaluates business opportunities, and develops strategies for targeting potential customers.
- Partners closely with Executive to establish standards governing lead generation, prospect contact and follow-up, and opportunity qualification.
- Develops strategies for assessing customer needs and positioning the organization's products or services as potential solutions.
- Tracks performance of the business development function and develops and implements strategies for improvement.
- Includes internal opportunities such as new products or services and may include external opportunities such as investments, real estate development, mergers, acquisitions, divestiture, and joint ventures.
- Develops and obtains agreement on overall area strategy to enhance sales and profits.
- Works with the executive, including the strategic planning or mergers & acquisitions teams, to evaluate new business opportunities, assess potential markets, and develop projects for use in new marketing initiatives.
