Clinical Specialist - Reach Us Detroit at Detroit Wayne Integrated Health Network – Detroit, Michigan

Position Summary:

The Clinical Specialist for Reach Us Detroit is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations, clinical quality, and integration of Detroit Wayne Integrated Health Network’s (DWIHN) 24/7 behavioral health support service for youth and families. This position will assist in service monitoring, clinical response, data tracking, and coordination with partners to ensure timely and trauma-informed support for individuals in emotional distress.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Serve as clinical staff for the Reach Us Detroit call, text, and chat support service.Monitor incoming service data (call volume, text/chat metrics, response times) and flag any deviations from performance targets.Conduct quality assurance reviews of documentation and clinical responses.Provide brief clinical intervention and coaching support to frontline agents when escalations occur.Serve as point-of-contact for escalation pathways (e.g., 911, crisis mobile units, youth psychiatric supports).Coordinate with contracted vendors to ensure service availability, training, and technical infrastructure are aligned.Participate in outreach and education campaigns to promote service awareness among youth, families, and school/community-based organizations.Develop and/or deliver trauma-informed training and onboarding materials for peer support agents, interns, and community stakeholders.Maintain program alignment with expectations, including assisting with progress reports and evaluation metrics.Ensure compliance with ethical and legal standards related to crisis work, youth confidentiality, and clinical documentation.Collaborate with the Data Analyst and Research Associate on performance outcomes and trends.Supervise student interns as appropriate.

Required Education and Experience:

Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field.Licensed or license-eligible (LLMSW, LMSW, LLPC, LPC, LP, TLLP) in the State of Michigan.Minimum 3 years of experience providing mental health services, including crisis response or hotline-based services.Experience with youth-focused services, suicide prevention, or school/community mental health preferred.Experience in program implementation, training delivery, and quality assurance in a behavioral health setting.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Strong understanding of trauma-informed and culturally responsive behavioral health support.Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills.Ability to work independently, triage multiple priorities, and maintain calm during high-stress situations.Proficient in documentation systems, data entry, and interpreting service metrics.Ability to work flexible shifts, including evening or weekend rotations, to support 24/7 coverage.This description is not intended to be a complete statement of job content, rather to act as a general description of the essential functions performed.
