About This Position
The Operations Manager will oversee and assist union drivers, driver helpers, processing/production, yard and operations administrative employees in the performance of their job duties such as responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues or complaints. This includes activities involving communicating and coordinating effectively with UCO, Trap, Chase Collections, Routing, Administration, Safety and DOT Compliance. Direct manager experience with unions is required.
This role works seamlessly with all functions and support systems within Mahoney Environmental. This is a hands-on leadership position that leads the scheduling and implementation for the operations team, supports sales and opportunities for profitable growth, and strives for operational excellence as the low-cost service provider- all in a safe, open, and transparent environment.
Schedule for this role: Night shift, but training may be done during the day.
Salary range: $85,000 - $90,000 annually depending on experience

Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Hires and trains new employees.
- Oversees the daily workflow of the department and addressing driver call outs.
- Work with scheduling software to plan routes for drivers.
- Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
- Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.
- Ensures proper safety protocols are being followed.
- Manage, direct, and supervise the collections activities for the Market Area.
- Monitor, manage and improve driver productivity.
- Responsible for all drivers’ training, safety and DOT compliance and hours
- Assists and directs all UCO, Trap, Chase, and Support Services.
- Assist Manager with business plan and budget.
- Work closely with the Customer Service Department daily.
- Performs other related duties as required.
- Excellent managerial and supervisory skills.
- Extensive knowledge of operations and production management.
- Ability to interpret financial data as needed to set production goals.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Bilingual Spanish a plus.
- Route management and logistics experience required.
- College degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 2 years' experience working with unions.
- Three years of related experience required.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to access and navigate the facility.
- Must be able to lift 100 pounds at a time.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, kneel, climb ladders and squat for extended periods.
- Ability to work at heights up to 35 feet, in confined spaces, and in adverse temperatures and weather conditions.
- Work outdoors in different weather conditions as needed.
- Exposure to used cooking oil odors and handling greasy bulk containers/hoses.
