Position Summary:As a Lead Software Test Engineer on the Enterprise Systems team, you will serve as a subject matter expert and thought leader responsible for delivering top-tier testing services for SPS enterprise systems such as Oracle Fusion, Workday, and Salesforce. You will collaborate with stakeholders inside and outside your team, working alongside engineers and leaders to develop and share best practices in an agile environment. This role balances individual contribution with team leadership, acting as a peer mentor to drive high performance while remaining hands-on in the design, development, and execution of impactful quality solutions. Your responsibilities span the full testing lifecycle, including Test Strategy and Plans, Test Scenarios and Scripts, Test Execution, and Test Automation, all with a focus on delivering quality solutions that support an improved customer and employee experience.- Oversee all testing activities and manage the QA activities for projects and applications assigned, while mentoring team members to support skill growth and team performance.
- Create and implement comprehensive test strategies and plans, identifying scalable quality solutions to complex business problems.
- Work closely with developers, product managers, and stakeholders inside and outside the team to define test requirements, identify risks, and share best practices across teams.
- Develop, execute, and maintain both manual and automated test cases.
- Ensure timely identification, documentation, and resolution of defects.
- Monitor and report on test progress, coverage, and results including release planning and risk assessment meetings.
- Continuously improve testing processes and methodologies, promoting engineering best practices within and across teams.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and best practices.
This role follows a hybrid work model at our Minneapolis office.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field and 8+ years of professional software testing experience, including 2 years of leadership experience.
- Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and processes
- Experience with test automation tools such as Playwright, TestRail, Selenium.
- Experience with SaaS platforms like Oracle Fusion, Salesforce, and Workday
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies
- Experience with bug tracking tools like JIRA
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to understand the "why" behind business and technical challenges
- Strong communication and leadership abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
- Nice to have ISTQB, CSTE, or other relevant certifications.
At SPS Commerce, we are committed to ensuring that each employee's compensation reflects their unique experiences, performance, and skills in their role. The salary range for this role considers several factors, including education, relevant skills, work history, certifications, location, and more.
The annual salary range for this role is: $135,400.00 - $145,000. The actual salary offered will be determined based on the factors listed above and may fall anywhere within the range.
