About the Role
Archer Academy of Accelerated Learning is seeking motivated and collaborative professionals who are excited to be part of an innovative learning community designed to help students accelerate through high school while receiving the support they need to succeed. Staff at Archer Academy work as a team to create a positive, responsive, and student-centered environment where new ideas are welcomed, and continuous improvement is part of the culture.

Individuals in this role join a small, mission-driven team that values collaboration, creativity, and strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues. Staff work closely with school leadership and peers to support daily school operations, contribute to a welcoming school climate, and help implement programs that advance student success.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide engaging instruction in secondary elective courses that support student interests, skill development, and pathways toward college, career, and community readiness.
  • Design and deliver lessons aligned with Archer Academy’s learning acceleration model, using instructional strategies that promote engagement, creativity, and real-world application.
  • Create a positive and structured classroom environment that supports diverse learners and encourages active participation and collaboration.
  • Differentiate instruction and provide appropriate supports so all students can access and succeed in elective coursework.
  • Collaborate with special education staff and other teachers to ensure students with diverse learning needs receive appropriate supports within the classroom.
  • Monitor student progress and provide timely feedback to help students stay on track with course expectations and credit attainment.
  • Maintain organized systems for grading, attendance, and communication with students and families.
  • Engage with students and families in a professional and welcoming manner to build strong relationships and support student success.
  • Participate in team meetings, collaborative planning, and school initiatives that strengthen instructional practice and student outcomes.
  • Contribute to a collaborative school culture that values innovation, teamwork, and shared responsibility for student success.
  • Support school events, family engagement opportunities, and activities that help strengthen the school community.

Qualifications

  • Current New Mexico Public Education Department (NMPED) Level II or III Secondary Teaching License.
  • Demonstrated ability to design engaging lessons that promote student interest, creativity, and skill development.
  • Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills with diverse student populations.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills when working with students, families, staff, and community partners.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues as part of a supportive professional team.
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to adapt instruction and take initiative in a dynamic school environment.
  • Commitment to supporting students with diverse academic, social, and behavioral needs.
  • Experience with the Nurtured Heart Approach or other strengths-based classroom management strategies is preferred.
