This role is responsible for leading and maintaining safety standards on large-scale, mission-critical construction projects, including hyperscale data centers. You will create a proactive safety culture across project sites, coordinating closely with project teams to ensure compliance, minimize hazards, and protect all personnel. The position requires onsite presence, with full-time travel or relocation as needed, and involves both oversight and hands-on engagement with subcontractors and field teams. You will conduct inspections, lead safety meetings, investigate incidents, and implement corrective actions to uphold regulatory and organizational standards. This is a highly visible role with a direct impact on project success, workforce safety, and operational compliance. The ideal candidate brings technical expertise, strong leadership, and excellent communication skills to influence safety outcomes on complex, high-value projects.
- Lead the development and enforcement of safety programs, policies, and practices across mission-critical project sites
- Conduct and document regular safety inspections and audits, ensuring compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards
- Oversee incident investigations, accident reporting, and corrective action plans, tracking outcomes for compliance purposes
- Coordinate with project teams to ensure proper protective equipment, safety materials, and first aid resources are available
- Facilitate weekly safety “Toolbox” meetings, ensuring employees and subcontractors are informed and trained on safety procedures
- Maintain detailed records of safety activities, meetings, inspections, and communications for reporting and regulatory tracking
- Collaborate with regional safety leadership to continuously improve safety culture, compliance programs, and site practices
- 5+ years of experience managing safety programs on large commercial, industrial, healthcare, or mission-critical construction projects
- 2+ years of experience on hyperscale or large data center projects
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- OSHA 500 certification required; EM385 experience preferred
- Bilingual in Spanish strongly preferred
- Proven ability to manage safety orientations, substance abuse programs, incident investigations, and regulatory reporting
- Strong communication, organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with management, owners, trades, and subcontractors
- Willingness and ability to relocate or travel full-time to project sites
- Competitive salary range: $110,000–$125,000 (California, may vary by location and experience)
