CDL Driver/ Laborer at Verita Telecommunications Corp – Winston-Salem, North Carolina
About This Position
The CDL-A Driver / Laborer is responsible for safely operating commercial vehicles while also assisting field crews with daily labor tasks on construction or telecom job sites. This role requires a strong work ethic, safety awareness, and flexibility to support both driving and hands-on field operations.
Key Responsibilities
Operate CDL-A vehicles (dump trucks, flatbeds, tractor-trailers, lowboys, etc.)
Transport equipment, materials, and supplies to and from job sites
Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections in compliance with DOT regulations
Secure and verify loads properly
Assist field crews with general labor tasks when not driving, including:
Site setup and cleanup
Material handling
Trenching, backfill, and restoration support
Follow all safety procedures, company policies, and job site requirements
Maintain accurate logs, paperwork, and documentation
Communicate effectively with supervisors and crew leads
Qualifications
Valid CDL-A license
Acceptable driving record
Construction, utility, or telecom experience preferred
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Ability to lift up to 75–100 lbs as needed
Strong safety-first mindset and reliability
Willingness to perform both driving and labor duties
Physical & Work Requirements
Long shifts, overtime, and occasional weekends may be required
Ability to work in active construction environments
Comfortable working around heavy equipment and traffic zones
