Location: Southeast U.S. (Flexible within regional markets)

Company: Owen Electric Company, Inc.

Industry: Mission-Critical / Hyperscale Data Center Electrical Construction

About Owen Electric Company

Owen Electric Company (OEC) is a rapidly growing electrical contractor delivering complex industrial, mission-critical, and hyperscale data center projects across the Southeast. We operate with a field-first culture, disciplined execution, and a deep commitment to Safety, People, and Quality.

As hyperscale data center projects continue to increase in size, speed, and complexity, prefabrication and modularization have become critical to productivity, quality, and schedule certainty. OEC is investing in this capability to support repeatable, scalable execution across its mission-critical portfolio.

Position Summary

The Prefabrication / Modularization Manager is responsible for developing and executing OEC’s prefabrication and modular construction strategy for hyperscale data center projects. This role drives planning, design integration, shop execution, logistics, and field deployment of prefabricated electrical assemblies.

This is not a shop-only role. The Prefabrication / Modularization Manager is expected to integrate closely with estimating, VDC/BIM, project management, procurement, and field leadership to ensure prefab solutions are engineered, built, and delivered in alignment with project schedules and installation sequencing.

The position plays a key role in improving labor productivity, enhancing quality, reducing site congestion, and increasing predictability on large-scale mission-critical projects.

Key Responsibilities

Prefabrication Strategy & Planning

  • Develop project-specific and program-level prefabrication strategies aligned with execution plans, manpower loading, and schedule milestones.
  • Identify systems and assemblies suitable for prefabrication, including conduit racks, cable tray assemblies, grounding systems, equipment skids, and modular electrical rooms.
  • Collaborate with estimating and project teams to quantify prefab scope and validate labor savings assumptions.

Design & VDC Integration

  • Work closely with VDC/BIM and engineering teams to ensure designs support prefabrication and modular construction.
  • Drive model-based detailing, standardization, and clash-free assemblies suitable for shop fabrication.
  • Support constructability reviews focused on prefab opportunities and installation sequencing.

Shop & Production Management

  • Oversee prefabrication shop operations, workflows, and production schedules.
  • Ensure prefabricated assemblies are built in accordance with drawings, specifications, and OEC quality standards.
  • Implement quality control processes to ensure right-first-time fabrication.

Logistics & Field Deployment

  • Coordinate delivery, staging, and installation of prefabricated assemblies with project teams and superintendents.
  • Ensure prefab assemblies are delivered job-ready and aligned with field sequencing and access constraints.
  • Support field crews during installation to ensure proper handling, integration, and performance.

Procurement & Material Coordination

  • Coordinate with procurement to ensure materials required for prefabrication are released early and delivered to the shop on time.
  • Support vendor coordination for modular equipment, skids, and specialty assemblies.
  • Align procurement schedules with prefab production and field needs.

Performance Tracking & Continuous Improvement

  • Track prefabrication performance metrics including labor savings, quality, rework reduction, and schedule impact.
  • Capture lessons learned and support continuous improvement of prefab standards and processes.
  • Drive standardization of assemblies and repeatable solutions across projects and programs.

Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure prefabrication activities comply with OEC safety policies and applicable regulations.
  • Promote safe work practices in both shop and field environments.
  • Support safety planning related to lifting, rigging, transport, and installation of modular assemblies.

Qualifications

  • Seven or more years of experience in electrical construction, prefabrication, or modular construction management.
  • Direct experience supporting large commercial, industrial, or mission-critical projects preferred.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, installation sequencing, and construction logistics.
  • Experience working with VDC/BIM-driven workflows and model-based fabrication.
  • Strong leadership, planning, and communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred, or equivalent field experience.

Why Owen Electric Company

  • Opportunity to build and lead a high-impact prefabrication program supporting hyperscale data center delivery.
  • Direct influence on productivity, quality, and schedule performance.
  • Strong executive support and integration with project and field leadership.
  • Competitive compensation, benefits, and long-term career growth opportunities.
  • A culture that values innovation, standardization, and disciplined execution.
