GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Proposal & Inside Sales Specialist plays a critical role in supporting the Houston sales team by leading proposal development, providing inside sales support, and partnering with Marketing and Brand resources to ensure proposals and sales materials reflect McCoy Rockford’s organizational reputation, value proposition, and brand standards.

This role works cross-functionally with Sales, Business Development, Marketing, Design, Project Management, Operations, and Leadership to help advance sales opportunities through strong positioning, clear messaging, and consistent brand alignment—while maintaining accuracy, responsiveness, and operational feasibility.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the end-to-end development of sales proposals, RFIs, RFQs, and RFP responses, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and alignment with brand standards.
  • Partner with Sales and Business Development to gather requirements, define scope, pricing, timelines, and client expectations.
  • Coordinate inputs from Design, Project Management, Operations, Finance, and Marketing to deliver compelling, compliant proposals.
  • Draft, format, and finalize proposal and sales materials using brand-approved messaging, templates, and visuals while allowing for strategic customization.
  • Prepare quotes, pricing updates, revisions, and supporting documentation as opportunities evolve, ensuring margin and scope alignment.
  • Support inside sales activities including opportunity tracking, lead qualification, follow-ups, CRM updates, and pipeline support.
  • Serve as a central point of coordination during pre-award phases, tracking milestones and ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Design, and Marketing to position solutions, differentiators, and past work to strengthen client perception and win probability.
  • Assist with value engineering, scope refinement, clarifications, and alternative solution development as needed.
  • Maintain proposal templates, sales tools, and organized records of proposals, opportunities, and supporting documentation.
  • Track proposal activity, pipeline performance, and win/loss insights to support continuous improvement
  • Identify opportunities to improve proposal efficiency, brand consistency, and overall sales effectiveness.

KEY SELECTION AND SUCCESS FACTORS

WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • 3–5+ years of experience in proposal development, inside sales, sales support, or a related role.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to balance accuracy and compelling presentation.
  • Ability to manage multiple proposals and opportunities simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; CRM experience preferred.
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable balancing proposal execution with opportunity support and brand-aware sales positioning.

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field or equivalent combination of education and 1–3 years of experience in proposal coordination, inside sales, or a related support role.

OTHER/PREFERRED:

  • Experience partnering with Marketing or Brand teams in a sales or proposal environment.
  • Familiarity with furniture, interiors, construction, or project-based sales.
  • Experience with RFP/RFQ responses and pricing models.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, client-facing environment.

  • Employee may continuously sit using the computer, talking on the phone, standing, processing project paperwork, and attending. Duration up to 7 hours per day
  • Employees constantly reach out during work at desk. Height forward reach waist to chest; Frequency up to 30 times per hour
  • Employees must rarely bend, squat, stoop, or kneel during filing tasks.
  • Employees are occasionally exposed to ambient temperatures in the warehouse or in climate conditions.
