About This Position

SUMMARY

The Maintenance Manager will ensure business goals are achieved by organizing, prioritizing, and leading the repair and maintenance initiatives that support the world class production of wallcovering. The focus of this role is to maintain our equipment in a consistent manner, thereby enhancing efficiency, lowering costs, and maximizing asset utilization. This role will also be responsible for maintenance of site facilities/buildings.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Plan and oversee the day-to-day activities of a four-member maintenance crewCoordinate and oversee Maintenance and Engineering purchasingOrganize and maintain the maintenance spare parts inventory Act as a liaison between the Operations, Engineering and Maintenance departments in scheduling and coordinating day to day maintenance activities and executing projectsCoordinate and lead trouble shooting activities to identify problems at the root cause and implement systemic solutions to prevent reoccurrencesProvide feedback and support to department staff, including weekly meetings focused on safety and performanceEnsure that all maintenance programs are appropriate and adhered toRegularly review and revise plans for Preventative Maintenance activity, department schedulingEnsure that proper Spare Parts Inventory levels are maintained at all timesProvide emergency response to maintenance items as requiredContinually strive to improve processes to eliminate wasteDevelop strong working relationships with all staff and with all departments within the facilityProvide training to Maintenance Team and Operations Team Members on primary and ancillary equipmentAssist in solving problems while contributing to team building in a Continuous Improvement environmentCommunicates job expectations; plans, monitors, and appraises job results; coaches, counsels, and disciplines employees; enforces and upholds systems, policies, and proceduresMaintains staff by co-interviewing, selecting, orienting, and training employees; developing personal growth opportunitiesConducts performance appraisals, approves timecards, tracks attendance points, submits pay changes, and completes and presents all progressive discipline to direct reportsResolves personnel problems through active listening, investigating issues, identifying solutions, collaborating with HR, and recommending actionsCollaborate with Engineering on a day by day basis, representing the Maintenance dept in Capital projects.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

4 Maintenance Technicians over 2 shifts


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Associate Degree preferably in Mechanical or Electrical EngineeringMinimum 5 years maintenance experience in a manufacturing environmentExperience managing and leading people and leading in a team environmentKnowledge of "Best practices” for maintenance coordination and supervision.Experience interacting with outside contractors and OEMExperience with CMMS, work scheduling, and preventative maintenance. (eMaint a plus)Strong focus on plant and equipment reliability.Demonstrated people management skills.Basic knowledge of mechanical systems.Basic knowledge of pneumatic systems.Basic knowledge of electronics, PLC’s, AC/DC motors, and motor controlsExperience troubleshooting PLC programming.Knowledge of Lean manufacturing and/or Six Sigma methodologies desirable
