About the Role:
The Shipping & Receiving Associate plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and accurate movement of goods within the supply chain. This position is responsible for managing incoming and outgoing shipments, verifying the accuracy of orders, and maintaining organized records of all transactions. The associate collaborates closely with warehouse staff, carriers, and vendors to facilitate timely deliveries and resolve any discrepancies. Attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols are essential to prevent damage and loss of inventory. Ultimately, this role supports the overall operational success by maintaining a smooth flow of materials and products in the distribution process.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations.
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with inventory management systems.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with barcode scanning and warehouse management software.
- Forklift certification or experience operating material handling equipment.
- Knowledge of shipping regulations and carrier requirements.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with internal teams and external partners.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional overtime or weekends.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing lists to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Prepare and package outgoing shipments according to company standards and carrier requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of all shipping and receiving activities, including documentation and inventory updates.
- Coordinate with warehouse personnel to organize and store received goods in designated locations.
- Communicate with carriers and vendors to schedule pickups, deliveries, and resolve any shipping issues or delays.
- Operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently to move goods within the facility.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and company policies to maintain a secure working environment.
