As a Revenue Cycle Specialist, you ensure patients are billed accurately, insurance claims are handled correctly, and revenue is collected ethically and efficiently, allowing our clinical teams to focus on care while patients experience clarity and confidence.
This role may be a hybrid office-based, with opportunities to collaborate closely across clinical, administrative, and leadership teams at all three Great Rivers Dental locations.

- Manage all aspects of the revenue cycle including insurance billing, claims follow-up, collections, and patient billing
- Review patient accounts and statements to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance
- Monitor and proactively work accounts receivable and insurance aging reports
- Investigate denied claims, underpayments, and billing discrepancies — including appeals and peer-to-peer reviews
- Review EOBs for accuracy and proper contract reimbursement
- Process insurance payments within 24 hours of receipt
- Communicate professionally with patients and insurance carriers to resolve billing questions and concerns
- Handle patient calls with empathy and clarity, returning calls within 24 hours
- Generate and review financial and revenue cycle performance reports
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of dental billing codes, payer rules, and compliance standards
- Identify opportunities for workflow and process improvements
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, Fair Credit Standards Act, and all federal and state regulations
- Support training and mentorship of other finance team members as needed
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or comparable experience
- 2+ years of dental or healthcare billing experience
- Knowledge of dental terminology and CDT code updates
- Experience with Open Dental, Dental Intelligence, Microsoft Excel, and Google Drive

- Moderate noise levels in office settings
- Strong typing, data entry, and computer-based work required
