About the Role:
The 1st Shift, Monday-Thursday 6:30am- 4:30pm, Press Brake Operator plays a critical role in the manufacturing process by accurately bending and shaping metal components according to precise specifications. This position requires a strong attention to detail to ensure that all parts meet quality standards and customer requirements. The operator will work primarily on the first shift, collaborating closely with production teams to maintain efficient workflow and meet daily production targets. The role demands a thorough understanding of press brake machinery, safety protocols, and blueprint reading to produce consistent, high-quality output. Ultimately, the operator contributes to the overall success of the manufacturing operation by delivering reliable and precise metal fabrications on schedule.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience operating press brake machinery in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in press brake operation or metal fabrication.
- Experience with CNC press brake machines.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced production environment.
- Knowledge of safety standards related to metal fabrication.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate press brake machinery to bend and form metal parts according to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Inspect finished products for accuracy, quality, and adherence to safety standards, making adjustments as necessary.
- Maintain and clean equipment regularly to ensure optimal performance and prevent downtime.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to troubleshoot issues and improve production processes.
- Follow all safety guidelines and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.
Skills:
The required skills such as blueprint reading and mechanical aptitude are essential for accurately setting up and operating the press brake machinery to produce parts that meet exact specifications. Attention to detail and quality inspection skills ensure that finished products comply with customer and safety standards, reducing waste and rework. Preferred skills like CNC operation and Lean Manufacturing knowledge enhance efficiency and precision, allowing the operator to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
