JOB SUMMARY:

The Accountant is responsible for supporting the financial operations of the manufacturing facility through accurate and timely processing of accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, routine accounting tasks, and month-end close activities. This role assists in maintaining general ledger integrity, performing account reconciliations, supporting inventory and fixed asset accounting, and ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support daily accounts payable and accounts receivable activities to ensure accurate and timely processing
• Process vendor invoices, including three-way matching to purchase orders and receiving documentation
• Prepare and post customer invoices and credit memos; apply customer payments
• Reconcile AP and AR subledgers to the general ledger
• Prepare and post routine journal entries
• Assist with month-end close activities, including accruals and account reconciliations
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and research variances
• Support inventory accounting, including reconciliations and adjustment entries
• Maintain fixed asset records and assist with depreciation and related transactions
• Assist in preparing financial reports and schedules for management
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company accounting policies
• Provide documentation and support for internal and external audits
• Participate in process improvements to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of accounting operations

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 1–2 years of accounting experience; manufacturing experience preferred
• Basic understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles
• Familiarity with AP, AR, and general ledger processes
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems preferred
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines
• Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to work collaboratively
• Payroll experience not required, but considered a plus
