Non-Invasive Technician at Bryan Health – Lincoln, Nebraska

SUMMARY

The Noninvasive Technician I performs electrocardiography procedures and performs application of cardiac monitors for diagnostic purposes for Bryan Medical Center and institutions throughout the region.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

*Commits to the mission, vision, beliefs and consistently demonstrates our core values.

*Performs diagnostic electrocardiograms, signal-averaged electrocardiograms, flight physical electrocardiograms, and holter and event monitor applications in accordance with established departmental policies.

*Takes calls from account hospitals for ""Stat"" overreads; contacts Cardiologist 24/7 for urgent interpretation.

*Receives event monitor transmissions of ECG strips and contacts Cardiologist for ""Stat"" overreads.

*Recognizes and reports ""Discrepancy ECG"".

*Prepares unconfirmed ECG's for cardiologist overread.

*Transcribes cardiologist overread, creating a confirmed ECG; distributes copies of confirmed ECG.

*Performs routine equipment maintenance.

*Transports patient and/or equipment, alone or with assistance, in bed, wheeled cart or wheel chair to designated area.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalency required. Courses related to health science field at post secondary level preferred. Prior experience working in a hospital or medical environment preferred. Basic Life Support (CPR) with AED certification within three (3) months of hire required.
