CDL Class B Driver in Tampa, Florida at Mid-Atlantic Roofing Supply

The CDL Class B Driver is responsible for efficiently managing delivery routes within a 300-mile radius, ensuring timely and safe transportation of goods. The hours will vary based on the daily schedule. Must be detail-oriented, efficient, and have a clean driving record.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Fully understand how to operate and safely drive your assigned delivery vehicleDrive trucks with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) over 26,000 lbs.Transport goods from the place of origin to assigned destinationPick-up loads and organizes goods in an ordered, logical mannerEnsure contents are properly secured inside of the truck to prevent breakage or damageSafely and efficiently handle and unload goods at selected destinationsObtain signatures to confirm and complete deliveries with clientsEnsure timely deliveriesConfirm contents of each shipment load matches the manifest documentPerform inspections of your vehicle prior to and following each tripAlways ensure your vehicle is kept cleanMaintain and service vehicle as needed (refuel, change oil, tire pressure, repairs, etc.)Notify managers of any major maintenance or delivery issues encounteredFollow delivery schedule and rest at appropriate timesMaintain detailed driving and delivery logs - Electronic logs a mustAdhere to company rules and regulationsObey all applicable traffic laws and drive according to the weather/road conditionsComply with DOT regulations

REQUIREMENTS

Valid Class A or B driver's license required1+ years proven experience with dump trucks driving preferredKnuckle boom certification preferred but not requiredClean driving record with no moving violationsMust pass a background check and drug testSkilled at driving large vehiclesAlert, focused, and detail-orientedAbility to lift to 50 lbs. at a timeProficient using GPS and other routing systemsDisciplined, dependable, and resourcefulCustomer service skills and ability to represent the company in an appropriate manner
