What You Will Work On
Under the Volunteer Coordinator, the Volunteer Services Assistant is responsible for assisting in all areas within the department, including, but not limited to, the following:
How You’ll Create Impact
- Assist with administrative duties such as record keeping, inputting data, and maintaining schedules.
- Maintain the Volunteer Management platform to generate volunteer reports.
- Assist in Volunteer Management platform training for volunteers and staff.
- Assist in the orientation sessions to equip new volunteers.
- Collect survey feedback from volunteers for evaluation reports.
- Maintain effective communication with volunteers and staff.
- Other tasks as needed.
- MUST be eligible to work in Canada legally for Shepherd Village
What Are Your Skills and Experience
- Enrollment in or graduation from a Post-Secondary Program (diploma or degree) in Office Administration, Social Work, Human Services or a combination of equivalent education and work experience.
- Excellent communication, social and interpersonal skills
- Experience in recruiting, training, and retaining volunteers is an asset.
- Creative and open to new ideas
- Can work independently and in a team environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of volunteer management platforms is an asset.
