Director, Family Engagement and Health Services

This leadership role is focused on advancing family engagement, health, mental health, and nutrition services across early childhood education programs. You will play a key part in strengthening systems that support children and families, ensuring high-quality, equitable services are delivered across partner and delegate networks. The role blends strategic oversight with hands-on coaching, training, and technical assistance to improve program outcomes. You will collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners to implement data-driven improvement plans and support organizational transformation. You will also contribute to content development and continuous improvement of tools and practices that shape service delivery nationwide.

Accountabilities:

Lead the implementation of family engagement, health, mental health, and nutrition services across partner and delegate programs, ensuring alignment with organizational frameworks and evidence-based practices.

  • Provide coaching, training, and technical assistance to partners and delegates to strengthen systems, staff capacity, and program effectiveness.
  • Conduct organizational assessments and co-develop collaborative implementation plans with partners, defining clear deliverables, timelines, and outcomes.
  • Use data to monitor progress toward goals, adjusting support strategies in real time based on evolving needs and performance insights.
  • Manage multi-contract support delivery, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and achievement of program outcomes.
  • Design and execute annual scopes of support using a mix of coaching, professional development, and technical assistance approaches.
  • Support partner engagement and change management efforts to build sustainable, high-impact systems.
  • Collaborate with internal leadership to align service delivery, address challenges, and ensure partner success.
  • Contribute to federal monitoring preparation, including coaching and readiness support for partner organizations.
  • Lead content refinement efforts, working with product and policy teams to enhance tools, training materials, and program standards.
  • Participate in pilot testing and continuous improvement of program resources to ensure scalability and effectiveness.
Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Public Health, Family and Community Engagement, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.

  • 3+ years of experience in Head Start, Early Head Start, or family and community engagement programs, including coaching, supervision, and technical assistance.
  • Strong background in program management, implementation strategy, and continuous improvement processes.
  • Experience supporting or launching early childhood or Head Start programs with hands-on operational involvement.
  • Proven ability to use data to inform decisions, evaluate programs, and drive performance improvements.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work across diverse stakeholders and partners.
  • Experience in training design, facilitation, or adult learning methodologies is highly valued.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and travel up to 75% of the time.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English is strongly preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background checks and physical requirements.
