Business Development Mgr

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Business Development Manager in the United States.

This role is focused on driving strategic growth across a defined territory by managing and expanding key SMB accounts while also identifying new business opportunities. You will operate as a trusted advisor to clients, helping them navigate complex IT needs by positioning tailored technology solutions that combine hardware, software, cloud services, and support offerings. Working in a field-based capacity, you will balance account management with proactive prospecting, ensuring consistent revenue growth and strong long-term relationships. You will collaborate closely with internal teams, vendors, and partners to build integrated solutions that address customer challenges. This position requires both strategic thinking and hands-on execution, with regular client engagement at senior decision-making levels. It is a high-impact role where relationship-building, consultative selling, and solution design directly influence business outcomes.

Accountabilities

In this role, you will be responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of accounts while driving new business development through a consultative, relationship-driven approach:

  • Manage and grow existing key SMB accounts while identifying and pursuing new business opportunities within a defined territory.
  • Develop and execute account and sales strategies to achieve revenue and gross profit targets.
  • Build strong relationships with internal account teams, vendors, and manufacturer representatives to uncover and close opportunities.
  • Conduct strategic customer meetings, presentations, and quarterly business reviews to strengthen partnerships and drive growth.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor by communicating value propositions and tailoring solutions to customer needs.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline, calendar, and account documentation while ensuring timely reporting and follow-up.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to support solution design, account planning, and deal execution.
Requirements

The ideal candidate brings strong B2B sales experience, consultative selling skills, and the ability to manage complex customer relationships in a technical environment:

  • Experience in business development, account management, or field sales within IT, technology, or B2B solutions environments.
  • Proven ability to meet or exceed revenue and gross profit targets.
  • Strong consultative selling skills with experience managing both existing accounts and new business acquisition.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders at multiple levels.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, including experience engaging senior decision-makers (Manager, Director, VP level).
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage pipelines, travel, reporting, and multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Comfortable working independently in a field-based role with a balance of account management and prospecting.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience preferred.
