Kraken Robotics is currently seeking a Payroll & People Analytics Coordinator to join our team in Mount Pearl, NL.
This role sits at the intersection of People & Culture (P&C) operations and data, ensuring employees are paid correctly, group benefits programs and other perks run smoothly, and leadership has access to meaningful workforce analytics to support decision-making.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Payroll Administration
- Support end-to-end global payroll on a regular cycle of semi-monthly across North Americal and monthly across the United Kingdom
- Ensure payroll accuracy, including salaries and statutory deductions
- Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with local tax and employment regulations
- Liaise with external payroll providers and internal finance teams
- Support audits and reporting requirements
Benefits Administration
- Support the employee benefits programs (health, retirement, insurance, wellness)
- Support employee enrollments, changes, and terminations in benefits systems
- Act as a point of contact for employee benefit inquiries
- Coordinate with brokers and vendors to ensure smooth service delivery
- Support benefits renewals and benchmarking
- Administer the employee perks and discount programs
People Analytics & Reporting
- Maintain and analyze People & Culture data (headcount, turnover, compensation, absenteeism)
- Build and maintain dashboards and regular reports for leadership
- Identify trends and provide actionable insights to improve employee experience and retention
- Ensure data integrity across HRIS and payroll systems
Compliance & Process Improvement
- Ensure compliance with employment standards, tax laws, and internal policies
- Maintain documentation of payroll and benefits processes
- Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve data accuracy
- Support P&C projects and system implementations
Qualifications and Experience:
Required Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in payroll, benefits, P&C operations, data analytics or similar role
- Post secondary diploma or degree in business administration, accounting, finance, analytics or a related field.
- Strong understanding of payroll processes and compliance requirements
- Experience administering employee benefits programs
- Proficiency in HRIS and payroll systems
- Advanced skills in Microsoft 365; experience with data visualization tools is a plus
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
- Exceptional communication skills
- Analytical mindset with an ability to see trends and provide insights in complex data sets
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting multi-country payroll
- Knowledge of data analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
- Certification in payroll or Human Resources (e.g., PCP, CPP, CIPD)
- Experience in a fast-paced or scaling organization
