Senior Network Engineer

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Network Engineer in the United States.

This role offers the opportunity to design, optimize, and support large-scale network infrastructure within a fast-paced, technology-driven environment. You will be responsible for ensuring high availability, performance, and security across critical network systems that support both internal operations and customer-facing services. Working closely with cross-functional engineering and security teams, you will play a key role in architecting resilient and scalable network solutions. The position involves both hands-on technical execution and strategic infrastructure planning. You will troubleshoot complex network issues, improve system reliability, and contribute to ongoing modernization initiatives. This is a high-impact role ideal for an experienced engineer who thrives in solving complex networking challenges at scale.

Accountabilities:
  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable and secure enterprise network infrastructure across production environments
  • Monitor network performance, reliability, and security, proactively identifying and resolving issues
  • Configure and manage routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and related networking technologies
  • Support network architecture planning, upgrades, and modernization initiatives
  • Troubleshoot complex network incidents and perform root cause analysis to ensure long-term stability
  • Collaborate with security, systems, and DevOps teams to ensure seamless integration across infrastructure
  • Maintain documentation of network configurations, procedures, and architecture standards
  • Participate in on-call rotations to support critical infrastructure and incident response
  • Evaluate and recommend new networking technologies to improve performance and scalability
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in network engineering or infrastructure roles
  • Strong knowledge of networking protocols including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF, and VPN technologies
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise networking equipment (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, or equivalent platforms)
  • Solid understanding of network security principles, firewalls, and segmentation strategies
  • Experience with cloud networking environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is highly preferred
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose complex, multi-layer network issues
  • Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools for network performance analysis
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience preferred
