Location: Virden, MB (Travel Required – Southern Manitoba & SE Saskatchewan)

RFNOW Inc. is seeking applications from motivated, results-driven leaders to join our growing team as a Construction Manager. This role is ideal for a seasoned construction professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about leading teams to successfully build and expand fibre optic infrastructure.

As Construction Manager, you will work collaboratively with leaders within our Project Management Office (Project Managers, Procurement/Inventory, and Field Operations) to implement mid-term plans and strategic initiatives that support the continued expansion of our fibre optic network. You will play a key role in establishing standards, optimizing resources, and ensuring our infrastructure aligns with the needs of our customers and the growth of our business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide overall leadership, direction, and support to the Construction team to achieve company build objectives.
  • Build, develop, and lead effective teams to execute day-to-day and project-based construction work.
  • Establish clear expectations and accountability regarding timelines, budgets, and resource requirements.
  • Collaborate with Procurement to ensure vehicles, equipment, and materials are available as required.
  • Liaise regularly with Project Managers to review schedules for compliance with timelines, cost targets, and KPIs.
  • Lead the implementation of new processes and procedures within the Construction Management team.
  • Develop and execute a staffing strategy focused on recruiting, retaining, and engaging a high-performing workforce.
  • Oversee worksites across Southern Manitoba and SE Saskatchewan.
  • Maintain a respectful, safe, and productive working environment.
  • Qualifications & Experience

  • 5–10 years of underground construction experience (telecommunications experience considered a strong asset).
  • Previous experience as a Superintendent or Foreman.
  • Proven ability to manage labour, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and resources in fibre optic cable installation.
  • Strong project scheduling and planning skills.
  • Solid understanding of construction costs and budgeting.
  • Ability to identify constructability issues and develop practical, effective solutions.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to anticipate stakeholder needs.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, including coaching and motivating team members.
  • Knowledge of ground disturbance practices and Workplace Health & Safety legislation.
  • Class 5 Driver’s License.
  • Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to travel Monday to Friday.
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings or weekends as required.
  • Ability to accept responsibility and be accountable for results.
  • High level of accuracy, dependability, and professionalism.
  • Comfortable working both in an office environment and on-site in varying environmental conditions.
  • Compensation & Benefits

  • Full-time, permanent position.
  • Monday to Friday schedule (50–60 hours per week).
