About This Position

Position SummaryThe Engine Development Project Coordinator / Technician supports the execution of multiple concurrent engineering and manufacturing development projects related to solid rocket motor products, processes, equipment, and facilities. This role is intentionally structured as a 50/50 administrative and hands-on technical position. The successful candidate will coordinate schedules, procurement, documentation, and project tracking while also actively participating in fabrication, equipment installation, field trials, and commissioning activities.Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and update project schedules for multiple concurrent development and manufacturing initiatives.
  • Track task completion status, milestone progress (hit/missed/at-risk), and budget vs. actual expenditures.
  • Coordinate procurement activities including obtaining vendor quotes, placing purchase requests, and tracking material lead times.
  • Assist in planning and organizing labor and material resources required to meet project timelines.
  • Prepare periodic project status summaries and provide updates to department leadership.
  • Participate directly in fabrication, assembly, and installation of equipment and infrastructure.
  • Support equipment commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting prior to production release.
  • Assist with field trials, data collection, and documentation of test results.
  • Maintain organized project documentation, drawings, and technical records.
Work Environment / Field Requirements
  • Approximately 50% office-based administrative coordination and 50% hands-on technical field/shop work over a 12-month period.
  • Extended periods may be spent in either environment depending on project phase.
  • Must be comfortable working in manufacturing, construction, and field test environments.
  • Must be able to work around industrial equipment and wear required PPE.
  • May require occasional travel to test sites or vendor facilities.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Project Management, or related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 3–7 years of experience supporting engineering or manufacturing projects.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and willingness to work hands-on in shop and field environments.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and basic mechanical assemblies.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel or similar tools for tracking schedules and costs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in aerospace, propulsion, or industrial manufacturing environments.
  • Experience supporting equipment installation, commissioning, or facility buildouts.
  • Familiarity with fabrication processes such as machining, welding, or mechanical assembly.
  • PMP certification or formal project management training.
