Behavioral Health Supervisor

Department: Receiving Hope Center

Reports to: Assistant Director

Hours: 40 hours per week, with flexibility if needed for coverage

Location: Receiving Hope Center


Position Summary: The Behavioral Health Supervisor is responsible for the daily care and supervision of program participants at the Receiving Hope Center (RHC). This position partners with the therapeutic, educational, and life skills staff to meet organizational goals and individual participant goals. Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

Staff Coordination

    Provide support and delegation of daily duties to behavioral health specialists, behavioral health technicians, and PRN staff

    Manage behavioral health staff schedule within assigned timeframe, assisting with timesheet approval, time off approval, and coordination of coverage assurance

    Participate as a lead team member in applying service plans, safety plans, behavior plans, and response plans

    Lead by example with the strength-based approach with participants and staff

    Participate in monthly staff meetings

    Maintain on-call availability to address coverage emergencies

    Serve as a point person for volunteers or guests at RHC

Maintaining Program Structure

    Observe the emotional state of participants and relay any issues or concerns to the clinical team

    Observe the physical state of participants and relay any issues or concerns to the HSP team

    Actively participate in program activities, especially with volunteers

    Provide safety checks

    Perform administrative functions as needed, including completing accurate and detailed documentation daily

    Provide care to program participants without regard to race, gender, sexuality, ethnicity, religious or spiritual beliefs

    Provide culturally competent care for participants who have a history of trauma


Training

    Coordinate staff to attend training institute

    Become a certified Mindset Trainer and train other staff members as needed

    Become a certified CPR trainer and train other staff members as needed

    Facilitate onboarding of new RHC staff

    Manage and coordinate staff compliance with trainings, including recordkeeping

    Maintain current information within the GA+SCORE online system according to state guidelines


Participant Stabilization

Coordinate with the HSP team for new participant room assignments

Coordinate new participant orientation

Manage action plans and provide monthly participant summary reports to the HSP team

Document balanced living tracking sheets in the database

Facilitate leadership groups with participants

Review medication records and develop monthly MARS and count logs

Healthy Living

    Develop intentional connections with the program participants and staff members

    Lead by example in modeling the characteristics of a Mission Driven Professional

    Provide direction and encouragement to participants and staff

    Model healthy boundaries to participants and staff

    Provide support and crisis intervention as needed

    Embody the spirit of a lifelong learner

Professional Qualifications:

Never have been shown by credible evidence (e.g., a court or jury, a department investigation, or other reliable evidence) to have abused, neglected, sexually exploited, or deprived a child or adult or to have subjected any person to serious injury as a result of intentional or grossly serious injury as a result of intentional or grossly negligent misconduct as evidenced by an oral or written statement to this effect obtained at the time of application and evidence of having made efforts to obtain and evaluate references from previous employers

Documentation of references (at least two professional and one personal) that attest to the person’s capability of performing the duties of the position and to the person’s suitability of working with or around children and vulnerable populations

Administrative, organizational, and computer skills including use of email and Microsoft Office suite of products

Bachelor’s degree in psychology, sociology, social work, or related field

Minimum four years of direct service experience with children and families with serious emotional and behavioral issues, with minimum two years of supervisory or management experience; or minimum five years of related direct service experience with demonstrated leadership capabilities

Position Requirements:

    Moderate local travel required related to participant and program needs, as well as occasional travel for training and collaboration with other team members

    Ability to lift objects up to 25 pounds, work for long periods at a computer, and drive company vehicle as needed

    Ability to administer physical restraints as governed by policies and procedures of programs

    Satisfactory criminal history background check, as well as a satisfactory fingerprint records check determination as required by law

    Clean Motor Vehicle Record

    Documentation from a licensed physician or other licensed healthcare professional of a health screening examination within thirty (30) days of hiring sufficient in scope to identify conditions that may place residents at risk of infection, injury or improper care

    Current evidence of successful completion of a biennial training program in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and a triennial training program in first aid which have been offered by a certified or licensed health care professional; such programs shall be completed within the first year of employment

    Participation in all required trainings and competency in areas of training content
