Position Summary:
- The Therapist or Social Worker, Intake Therapist conducts person-centered, compassionate, comprehensive behavioral health assessments with individuals, couples, and families to enhance the quality and accessibility of services, strengthen internal and external referral pathways, and increase client engagement and satisfaction.
- It is important to note that this position will primarily conduct initial assessments; with the option to maintain a caseload if desired.
- The selected team member will have an option of a four day work week, located in-person at 2301 O Street, Lincoln, NE 68510. This position is also offering a $2,000 hiring bonus.
Job Duties:
- Meet productivity standards.
- Provide behavioral health assessments to individuals, couples, and families across locations.
- Assess client preferences, cultural and identity factors, strengths, support networks, symptomology, and functional impairments.
- Tailor evaluations to assess co-occurring substance use disorders as appropriate.
- Assign behavioral health diagnoses as applicable.
- Prescribe medically necessary treatment and services.
- Coordinate internal and external referrals for client treatment and services.
- Develop and maintain a working knowledge of internal and other health and human service resources in the areas served by the organization.
- Develop and maintain respectful working relationships with all LFS staff, external public and private human services organizations, criminal justice systems, and other referral sources.
- Promote services through community contacts.
- Maintain timely, legible digital records of services per program, agency, state, and Council on Accreditation (COA) standards.
- Ensure services are recorded properly for billing.
- Participate in quality improvement activities including peer reviews as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of all protected health information.
- Participate in regular supervision sessions for the purpose of reviewing service provision, coordination, and documentation.
- Supply continuous feedback and suggestions for improvement to workflows related to client engagement, internal referrals, and client care in general.
- Adhere to credentialing requirements.
- Complete continuing education for professional growth and licensure requirements.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings, training, etc.
- Other behavioral health duties as assigned.

- Valid driver's license, proof of liability auto insurance, and ability to drive for organization business.

Education and Experience:
- Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Marriage & Family Therapy, or related field from an accredited college required.
- Independent licensure as a mental health practitioner (LIMHP) in the State of Nebraska required.
- Licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and/or provisional or licensed drug & alcohol counselor (PLADC / LADC) preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Hybrid work environment (in office and remote)
