Central Scheduler at White River Medical Center (Health System) – Batesville, Arkansas

Job Summary:
Schedules appointments for various hospital departments including Radiology, Surgery, Cath Lab, Respiratory and Sleep Lab. The scheduler schedules approximately 40 patients per day, and has the authority to make appointments for hospital departments according to the schedules they provide. The scheduler will follow very specific protocols in scheduling and the collection of financial information.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Should have basic knowledge of computers. Must be able to follow oral and written instructions. Have had course in medical terminology or willing to complete course within one year of employment. Must be able to communicate effectively. Will require ability to spell correctly and use good grammar. Must be flexible if needed to work variable shifts, weekends, and overtime. Must be able to handle multiple tasks. One-year experience in a hospital, similar medical facility, or physician's office preferred. Depending on education would consider no previous work experience. Must be able to solve problems independently or as part of a team. Must be able to resolve interdepartmental conflicts effectively. Must follow proper chain of command. Must be able to modify care appropriately according to the needs of patients based on their age and development level.
