About the Role:

As a Med-Surg Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Your primary responsibility will be to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for individuals recovering from surgery or managing chronic illnesses. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure that each patient receives personalized treatment and support throughout their recovery journey. This position requires a strong commitment to patient advocacy, safety, and education, as you will be responsible for monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and educating patients and their families about post-operative care. Ultimately, your efforts will contribute to improved patient outcomes and satisfaction within our healthcare facility.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
  • Degree in Nursing
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a medical-surgical nursing setting.
  • Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • ACLS

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' health status and needs.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  • Monitor patients' progress and respond to changes in their condition promptly.
  • Educate patients and their families on post-operative care and health management.

Skills:

The required skills for this position include strong clinical assessment abilities, which will be utilized daily to evaluate patients' conditions and determine appropriate interventions. Effective communication skills are essential for collaborating with the healthcare team and educating patients and families about care plans. Time management and organizational skills will help you prioritize tasks in a busy environment, ensuring that all patients receive timely care. Critical thinking skills will be necessary for making quick decisions in response to changes in patient status. Preferred skills, such as proficiency in EHR systems, will enhance your ability to document care accurately and efficiently, contributing to seamless patient care.
