Sacramento Area Sewer District (SacSewer) is currently accepting applications for multiple Mechanic III positions. Applications will be screened at 5PM after each of the following filing deadlines:

The Mechanic III independently performs a variety of mechanical duties in the maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment and systems involved in wastewater treatment and conveyance including operation of wastewater, storm water, recycled water pumping stations, potable water wells and treatment facilities, chemical handling systems, oxygen injection systems, hydraulic power systems, hydro-pneumatic systems, the maintenance and operation of stationary and portable diesel driven electrical generation systems for Sacramento Area Sewer District (SacSewer).

Possession of a valid California Water Environment Association (CWEA) Mechanical Technologist Grade 1 certificate, or higher.

AND

Either: 1. Three years of full-time paid experience employed by the Sacramento Area Sewer District in the class of Mechanic Level I/II.

Or: 2. Four years of full-time paid experience in the maintenance, construction, and repair of mechanical and electrical components of equipment in wastewater treatment plants, potable water systems, lift stations, storm drain pumping stations, or other mechanical facilities with similar systems and equipment.

Note: Completion of coursework in engineering or related field at an accredited college or university may be substituted for up to one year of the required experience. Related education substitutions for the required experience are computed based on 3 semester units or 4.5 quarter units = 1 work month.
