About This Position
Senior Accountant
SCOPE OF POSITION:
Responsible for the preparation and analysis of all financial reporting for management as well as other internal and external clients. Post all journal entries and perform monthly and quarterly account reconciliations within established guidelines. Work on various special projects as requested. Report to the Senior Finance Director.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform accounting functions in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Prospect financial policies and procedures and within established guidelines.
- Prepare accurate all monthly financial statements with corresponding notes to explain month-to-date and year-to-date variances.
- Post all necessary journal entries to general ledger. This includes Cash Receipts, Cash Disbursements, Billing, Accounts Receivable, Intercompany and all standard and recurring journal entries.
- Process the monthly general ledger close for all PHHH agencies.
- Complete monthly closing and year-end closing in an accurate and timely manner.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts monthly including bank reconciliations and AR Aging.
- Assist all Administrators with accounting related questions
- Liaison with billing company regarding reconciliations and revenue cycle integrity
- Prepare actual to budget reporting for all PHHH agencies with corresponding financial statement notes.
- Prepare all daily, weekly, and monthly reports as required.
- Prepare annual home health Medicare Cost Reports for all PHHH agencies.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 5-7 years of experience in Accounting
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to relate well, communicate effectively, and interact with all levels of management, employees and external customers.
- Must possess strong Accounting skills and knowledge of GAAP
- Advanced computer skills required particularly in Microsoft Excel
- Must have basic computer skills and ability to access internet and other programs applicable to Prospect procedures.
- Accurate and detail oriented
- Critical thinking skills and analytical skills
- Ability to perform multiple tasks within time frame.
- Strong analytical and interpretive skills.
