Job Description

Process Engineer

Majilite seeks a highly motivated and detail-oriented process engineer to join our team. In this position, you will analyze and optimize web coating, laminating, and converting manufacturing processes to improve efficiency while focusing on process improvement. This includes process designing, mapping, optimization, analysis, documentation, troubleshooting, quality control, project management, and quality assurance.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement process optimization strategies to improve and support the assets in the Coating and Converting departments, enhancing productivity, quality, safety, and waste minimization.
  • Participate in total quality and continuous improvement activities. Analyze process and test yield data to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Work directly with cross-functional teams to support quality challenges and process improvements as required.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration of new processes, technologies, products, and equipment.
  • Collaborate with chemist, production, and quality assurance teams to develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
  • Monitor and analyze process data, identify trends, and propose solutions for continuous process improvement.
  • Monitor and analyze process performance metrics, such as up-time, yield, and scrap rate, and develop strategies to meet or exceed targets.
  • Performing process capability studies, statistical analysis, and data-driven decision-making to achieve operational excellence and meet production targets.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements in all process engineering activities.
  • Develop processes that adhere to corporate and site safety requirements.
  • Providing engineering support on various/rotating 8-hour and/or 12-hour shifts, as required
  • Analyze equipment and materials to improve asset utilization.
  • Specify, recommend, purchase, and install new equipment for processes.
  • Work with the management team to achieve department goals.
  • Improve efficiencies through 5S, process mapping, and other process control methods.
  • Stay up to date with the latest advancements in process engineering technologies, methodologies, and best practices

Your Skills and Expertise

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in engineering (mechanical, industrial, chemical, or similar).
  • 5+ years of experience as a process engineer in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of process optimization techniques, lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and statistical analysis.
  • Experience with driving and adhering to the PDP process and implementing PFMEA.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve complex process issues.
  • Working knowledge of process safety, risk assessment, and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Good understanding of the formulation, material science, and equipment involved.
  • Ability to work in a diverse team environment.
  • Experience leading high impact Continuous Improvement projects
  • Ability to work in and support an ISO 9000 environment
