| Job Summary | This Nurse Infection Control, Regional Infection Preventionist, position will cover region 7 as defined by the Healthcare Associated Infection/Antibiotic Resistance Prevention Program. This region covers Jefferson County, Kentucky. The position is home-based. The Regional IP will spend a great deal of time visiting healthcare facilities, particularly where vulnerable populations are served to ensure readiness emerging infectious diseases and in response to antibiotic resistant organisms. The Regional IP will conduct infection prevention and control assessments, investigate outbreaks, and provide facilities with detailed recommendations and evidence based guidelines to ensure the facilities have a robust infection prevention and control program, addressing any gaps that may be identified. This position will work in tandem with an additional infection prevention nurse to cover a busy region with many healthcare facilities. This will require coordination and excellent communication skills. |
