Summer Nurse Intern—BCH Nursing Departments at Beatrice Community Hospital Health Center – Beatrice, Nebraska

Eligibility:
Applicants must have an expected graduation date of December 2026 or Spring/Summer 2027. Job Duties:The Nurse Intern position is a 9–12 week program who works as part of the patient care team to provide hands-on, direct patient care to patients while also learning nursing skills under the direct supervision of an RN preceptor. Through structured mentorship, meaningful clinical exposure, and defined transition pathways, the program supports students and preceptors while developing the next generation of professional nurses.Under the direction of licensed nursing staff, the Nurse Intern:

• Performs information processing and documentation related to patient charts and physician orders
• Assists nursing personnel with patient care as directed

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program and approaching the final year of the program
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
• Current Nurse Aide (CNA) licensure in the State of Nebraska (required)
• Medication Aide licensure in the State of Nebraska required within six (6) months of hire
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Previous CNA experience required

Shift Schedule:Temporary: May–August

• Up to 36 hours per week, working 12-hour shifts
• Must be able to work the schedule of the assigned mentor, which may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays
