About This Position
The Department of Neurological Surgery at The University of Pittsburgh is hiring an Assistant Professor in the tenure stream.
This position involves teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows and the establishment of an independent research effort. The incumbent will share responsibility for covering the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) and completing Focused Ultrasound procedures while growing this new service, which will be the first in the region. They will take on a portion of the functional and pain neurosurgery practice of a physician close to retirement and participate in trauma on-call rotations. An established track record and interest in designing and pursuing innovative research studies is optimal.
The ideal candidate should be board certified with fellowship training in Epilepsy Surgery, Functional and Stereotactic Neurosurgery and Neuro-Oncology.
Minimum education and requirements to be considered: - M.D - Board eligible or certified in Neurosurgery, with fellowship training in Epilepsy Surgery, Functional and Stereotactic Neurosurgery, and Neuro-Oncology.
Licensed or qualified for licensure in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
