This role will be a shop position. We will give you the tools to build a meaningful, lifelong career with Major Drilling.

In this role, you will diagnose, maintain, and repair a wide range of heavy-duty equipment. You will work closely with our operations and maintenance teams to ensure our equipment is safe, reliable, and ready for the field.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform welding operations using various processes on heavy-duty equipment

  • Read and interpret specifications, drawings, blueprints, welding symbols, and work orders

  • Assemble and weld raw materials and fabricated components using MIG and other welding processes

  • Adjust voltage and amperage settings as required

  • Operate hand tools, powered tools, plasma cutting torch, and welding equipment

  • Position and clamp parts in fixtures and operate overhead bridge cranes / jib cranes

  • Chip, clean, grind, and finish welds to required standards

  • Use smoke extractors and anti-splatter products as required

  • Report repair issues, equipment delays, and maintenance concerns to the Supervisor

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

  • Adhere strictly to all HSEC policies and procedures

Qualifications:

  • Journeyperson Welder certification, red seal is an asset.
  • Experience working with mining or heavy equipment repairs and customizations.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and driver’s abstract.
  • Ability to pass a Drug/Alcohol Screen & Fit for Duty test.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision or as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of the mining industry considered an asset

Monday-Friday
7:30am-4:00pm
