FirstHealth Hospice provides a variety of resources to patients and families to help relieve suffering and maintain quality of life. Our team recently received a 5-star rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services in its 2023 Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems Hospice Survey (CAHPS)
This is a RN weekend primary on call position from home, but it is not fully remote. In this role, you will provide phone triage and support, must be able to travel to patient homes/nursing facilities when needed, and deliver care for symptom management, active decline, and at times, support patients and families at the end of life—including during and immediately after death. Management of each patient also includes appropriately and effectively delegating patient care duties to other members of the team in order to assure optimal patient outcomes.
This position will have a rotation of weekends as follows: Friday & Saturday (4:30pm – 12mid) weekend #1 and then Sunday & Monday (12mid – 8am) weekend #2 and vice versa, responding to patient and family needs as they arise. There is no assigned caseload or scheduled visits—care is driven by patient needs and can vary throughout the shift.
Hospice RN Qualifications:
- Graduate of an approved school of nursing with a current NC RN license or compact state RN license.
- At least two years of experience in an acute care facility or home care agency.
- Must possess a valid NC driver's license. National Certification (CHPN) recommended after completion of at least two years of full time experience as an RN in a hospice nursing practice
